In his presentation he will tell his story on what went right, what went wrong, valuable lessons learned and why even though ChatterSpike wasn't a success, it was totally worth his time and effort.

Chris Hitchen - Partnering for Growth
Chris is co-founder and CEO of GetPrice, the Australian comparison shopping engine. He is also an active angel investor and entrepreneur. Prior to GetPrice, Chris consulted various European clients on corporate development, business development and strategy. Clients included the London-based mobile commerce start-up Reporo; Europe’s largest Search Engine Marketing agency, The Interactive Marketing Works (prior to their sale to Tradedoubler); and Summit Media, a European full-service digital agency.
Catherine Eibner - Engaging with Microsoft
Catherine Eibner recently joined Microsoft Australia as the Dynamics Developer Evangelist after running her own business, Cybner Consulting, for a number of years in the SQL and CRM consulting space. She has significant experience as a developer and consultant, is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and was awarded CRM MVP status just prior to joining Microsoft. Catherine is involved with several Sydney based user groups and presents regularly at several Usergroups around Australia. She is particularly passionate about supporting & encouraging other Women in IT and is involved with both the GeekGirlBlogs.com site, the GeekGirlBlogs Podcasting series as well as the Sydney Girl Geek Dinners.

Emma Lo Russo - Turning a Product into a Business
Emma’s career spans general management and marketing leadership roles at a range of organizations. At Altium she was previously Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the global sales, finance, people, manufacturing, logistics and marketing teams. Before joining Altium, Emma’s experience covers a range of business management responsibilities for organizations that include Macquarie Bank and MBF. She also has extensive experience in brand, design and advertising partnerships as Group Account Director for a wide range of blue chip organizations.

Mick Liubinskas - Focus Workshop
Mick Liubinskas founded Pollenizer with Phil Morle in 2008.Mick is a product strategy entrepeneur and executive, who works with early stage web businesses. His focus is on focus. How to take your grand vision and narrow it down to something that you can build, attract and keep customers. Before Pollenizer, Mick was CMO at Kazaa, Zapr and Tangler.

Nick Holmes a Court - Building a Buzz
Nick Holmes a Court, born 1981 Sydney Australia, is a Early Stage technology entrepreneur/investor/developer. Nick’s has corporate commercial experience in Sydney, San Francisco and London at companies including BetFair, Microsoft, IMG TWI, EuroMoney, Royal Bank of Scotland, INGDirect, IAG and Unilever. As an entrepreneur he has started over 50 ventures including ShiftedPixels and BuzzNumbers.

Kathryn Small - How to get Press
Journalist, writer, editor and super-intelligent hero Kathryn Small will present on how to write a proper Press Release and how to build relationships with journalists. She will also run a workshop with the teams helping them to draft up their first press release.

Lisa Herrod - Thinking about exceptional user experiences / How to learn from what users actually do with your product
Lisa is the Principal User Experience consultant at Scenario Seven with over ten years of hands-on experience on the web. She has a background in standards focused design and development and the last 6 years of her work has centred on design research, usability, accessibility and user experience strategy. Lisa believes in an inclusive, holistic approach to user experience design that permeates every layer of a site and every role on a team. Her clients range from small, non-profit organisations through to large multinationals such as Macquarie Bank and Microsoft.

Tristen Langley - Types of Financing for Startups
Tristen Langley is an Investment Director at Southern Cross Venture Partners. Tristen returned to Australia in 2007 after spending five years in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining SXVP, Tristen was a Business Development and Marketing Manager at Skype Technologies for North America. She spent several years as an Analyst, Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Prior to DFJ, Tristen was a Senior Associate with the Allen & Buckeridge. Tristen has an MBA (Stanford) and BSc (Honours) from UNSW and was the recipient of the University Medal.

Nick established Blue Cove ventures in 2007. Nick has a strong heritage in IT Investments and has a long track record of helping to build and grow software and web companies. Prior to founding Blue Cove Ventures he was co-founder of Quivalent Pty Ltd an email and blog marketing company behind www.zookoda.com. In March 2007 Zookoda was sold to PayPerPost Inc. the leading marketplace for Consumer Generated Advertising.

Ian Cumming - CEO Travellr
Ian started his first company Insight4 at age 23, which specialises in applications development and IT consulting for Education, the Power Industry, Health, and Science and Technology. Ian is also CTO and Director of Tickit Systems, an award-winning company that provides cloud-based Risk and Compliance software to Australian Fortune-500 companies. Ian also co-founded and built Travellr, a new online startup that aims to provide travel answers about any destination in the world.

Colin Cardwell - CEO 3rd Sense and Fizzy.com
Colin founded 3rd Sense in the UK as an advergame company. In 2006 he moved the operation to Sydney and expanded the development team. Fizzy a casual gaming portal that distributes games by 3rd Sense and other game developers.

Todd Forest - Tasman Ventures
Todd Forest has over 10-years of online marketing experience with global brands. While at sporting goods giant Nike in the mid 90s, Todd helped devise the strategy for their initial foray into online commerce. Then during the boom years (1998-2006), he worked in various executive roles at AOL including managing Netscape.com and AIM portal (AOL Instant Messaging). Todd Forest is the MD and owner of Tasman Ventures Fund Pty Ltd, an angel investor / advisory firm that focuses on innovation web companies that transform consumer experiences. Todd recently completed his 1st Ironman Triathlon (a long 12 hours 43 minutes....).
Vivian Stewart - Hall Capital
Vivian Stewart has founded two companies, worked in the venture capital community and with many other early stage businesses. Vivian joined Hall Capital as Director in 2005. Since this time, he has worked on a number of successful transactions and assignments for public and private companies including capital raisings, trade sales and strategy. Prior to Hall Capital, Vivian was a Commercialisation Manager with the University of Technology, Sydney. In 1999, Vivian co-founded early-stage investment group TiNSHED, which specialised in the Internet, media and telecommunications sectors. Vivian is a member of the Board of Directors of the Australian Association of Angel Investors and an active member of the Angel investment community.

Andrew Stead - ATP Innovations
Andrew has first-hand experience of building businesses and attracting investors and buyers. One of the key achievements of his 15-year career in the information technology sector was selling a search technology to Google in 2006. He has held a series of operational and strategy roles, working in commercialisation at the University of New South Wales and in technology consulting at UXC Ltd. Andrew has been involved in a wide range of capital raisings, licence negotiations and merger and acquisition transactions. He began his career as an Army officer, where his service included peace-keeping in the former Yugoslavia. He currently teaches postgraduate entrepreneurship at the University of Sydney. He has served on the boards of a number of start-up and not-for-profit businesses.

Bill Bartee - Southern Cross Venture Partners
Bill is a successful CEO, company founder and venture investor with expertise in building software, internet services, and telecommunications companies. Most recently, he was CEO of Mantara. From 1997 to 2001, Bill helped build and lead the early stage investing for Macquarie Technology Ventures ("MTV"), a balanced venture fund focused on software, telecommunications, internet and life sciences.

David Landers - Allen & Buckeridge
David Landers joined has been with A&B since 2000. He leads the A&B licensed pre-seed fund, the $21 million A&B Emerging Technologies Fund. David was executive vice president of sales and chief financial officer of AFL Ltd, a manufacturing business he co-founded in Shanghai and Beijing from 1995 to 1998. Prior he was the Asia regional head of M&A for Pepsi Cola International.

Michelle Deaker - Andover Venture Partners
Is the Managing Partner of Andover Venture Partners. Michelle has worked in the IT Industry for over 10 years as a successful business owner and entrepreneur. The company she founded, E Com Industries, as the predominant provider of gift cards and owners of www.giftvouchers.com, serviced over 100 major Australian retail brands including Coles Myer and Woolworths expanding operations into the UK, South Africa and New Zealand. In December 2005, E Com was acquired for $30m cash, returning over 4.6 times investment to shareholders and achieving an IRR of over 30% despite the tech sector crash in 2000. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and was awarded her PhD in Applied Science.
